Ton up for Jars and a half-century to Ned!
OSCA legend, Kym ‘Jars’ Ryder notched up his 100th game for the club in the ‘B’ grade game against P.A.O.C. in round 3. Kym made his debut for OSCA in 1992-93 in the ‘B’ grade and had an inauspicious start with both bat (did not bat) and ball (did not bowl). He did some good fielding (so he says) from fine leg to fine leg though.
‘Jars’ has gone on to make over 2,000 runs (H.S. 103*) and has taken, wait for it, 13 (!) wickets with his ‘wobblers’.
Fellow ’91 school leaver, Adam Niederer, will play his 50th match (all ‘A’ grade) against Hope Valley this week. ‘Neddy’ was recently named in OSCA’s 1988-2008 team and is approaching 2,000 ‘A’ grade runs. Good luck for the 50th mate.
