C Grade Team and Rnd 7 Week 1 Update

A grade
Round 7 v PAOC
The A grade lost the toss and were asked to field last Saturday against PAOC and it was looking likely that they were going to be chasing a huge total as PAOC raced to 1/68 from 6 overs. The wicket of their opening batsmen put a halt on things as they didn't look to try and score after this, however credit must be given to the OSCA bowlers for their tight line and length bowling which didn't allow free scoring. PAOC were eventually bowled out for 204 with an even bowling performance as Marslen picked up three wickets whilst Silvy, Bourne and White grabbed two wickets each. OSCA then had a tricky period of around 15 or so overs to manage, however got themselves into a great position at 1/44 and nearly a quarter of the runs knocked off. De Cesare (22*) and Silvy (12*) are the two not out batsmen.

Toyota Good for Cricket Raffle
OSCA are once again participating in the Toyota Good for Cricket raffle which is a great fundraiser for the club. Tom Bourne has once again put his hand up to manage this and he will soon be handing the books out, if you haven't already received them. The prizes are once again fantastic and let's see if one of the clubs players or supporters can win another prize. Gotta be in it to win it!

OSCA 50 Year Celebration - January 19th
A quick reminder that OSCA are hosting their 50 Year Celebration this Saturday January 19th and the weather gods have smiled on us as it is going to be a lovely 30 degrees for the day, which is a great result considering the temperature of late.  The OSCA A grade are taking on PAOC and are in a great position (see above), so please make your way up to Scotch No.2 from about 3.30pm onwards, there will be beverages available for purchase and a gourmet BBQ following play. For those that want to kick on, we will be heading down to our regular watering hole, the Edinburgh Hotel & Cellars from about 9pm. This is a monumental celebration as OSCA raises the bat for the half century and it will be great to see a good crowd in to watch the last session of a crucial two day clash for the A grade.
