OSCA Newsletter Grand Final Edition

OSCA is close to achieving a 2nd Premiership in two years – this time the B grade will play Grange for the A Grade Limited Overs premiership.

In an amazing game against Rostrevor last week OSCA started well after losing the toss, reducing ROC’s to 2/0 in the 3rd over. In a great all round bowling effort Adam Niederer was the standout, taking 4/18 to help restrict ROC’s to 8/110 off their 40 overs.

OSCA looked to be cruising at 0/25, but quickly stumbled to be 6/47, with 64 runs left for victory. Tom Kidman then combined with Cam Thorpe for a vital partnership before Thorpe was dismissed for 20. Kidman stayed with the lower order but more wickets fell leaving OSCA 12 runs to win & only 1 wicket in hand. 18y.o. 2010 school leaver Chris Landau joined his skipper & the two got the score to within 4 runs with 1 over remaining. Kidman took & single off the first ball & Landau hit the winning boundary with 3 balls to spare. Tom Kidman remained 36n.o. to carry his team into the Grand Final.
