B GRADE INTO SEMI FINAL AFTER WINNING 8 IN A ROW
OSCA’s B Grade team have earned a home semi-final against Rostrevor OC this weekend after winning 8 games in a row. The B’s have not lost in 2011 and will approach to final with confidence. The batting has been outstanding with contributions from numerous players. Tom Emmett finished 3rd in the LOA batting while Justin Wight, captain Tom Kidman, Cam Nelson & Julian Farkas have all been in good form. The “find of the season” has been 19y.o. medium pacer Scott Lavis. ‘Scooter’ has 27 wkts at 9.33av and easily won the LOA competition bowling trophy. Allan Miller, Cam Thorpe & 2010 School leaver Chris Landau help form a good bowling combination. Leg spinner Landau has taken 9 wickets at 6! in his first 3 games of LOA cricket. Good luck to Tom Kidman & his team – please come along support this Saturday. The Semi-final will be on Scotch No.2 Oval – 12.30PM START.
A GRADE AVOID RELEGATION
The A’s easily defeated Hope Valley in round 11 to stay in A2 for next season. An improved second half of the season winning 3 from the last 6 games gives hope for next season. The A’s were in a position to win all but the Woodville Rechabites game so with a small improvement finals next year is realistic. A Grade captain John Clifford showed plenty of determination making 90 runs off 75 overs – passing the unlucky Angus Hogben to win the A’s batting. At only 25 Years old & now with 2 A grade batting trophies ‘Bomber’ still has his best cricket ahead – which is great news for OSCA. Peter Harvey once again took out the A grade bowling, despite limping to the end of the season. Stewart Lovie (also when fit) had some outstanding games & Cam Thomas became the #1 spinner. It was great to see Nick Blight take 5 wickets in the last game in another good sign for the future. Thanks to Chris Rogers, Julian Farkas, Anthony Tucker & Adam Niederer who all played & made valuable contributions to the A’s in round 11 and helped the club avoid relegation.
C GRADE JUST MISSES FINALS
The C’s narrowly missed finals – not helped by the team above them being awarded two ‘forfeits’ due to non-pitch preparation – despite our strong protests. The C’s finished the year well and can count themselves unlucky not to make finals in a competition where every team does not play each other twice. Peter Feeney once again did an outstanding job coordinating the C’s. Evergreen Jody Tucker missed out on the LOB batting by 9 runs & Stephen Parsons also had another terrific all round season.

ATCA AWARDS
Congratulations to Scott Lavis for taking out the ATCA LOA bowling award for season 2010/11 by 5 wickets. As well as his 27 wickets for the season at an average of 9.33! Scott also managed to take 9 wickets in the C’s to cap off a great year.
Well done also to Tom Emmett (LOA) who finished third in the LOA batting & Jody Tucker who also finished third in the LOB batting by a mere 9 runs. Jody was run out by Anthony Tucker late in the season, not helping his cause.
SPONSORSHIP 2010/11 SEASON
Thanks again to all those sponsors who have contributed to OSCA so far this season. The club is extremely grateful to all of our supporters & sponsors.
SCORERS / COAHCES
Special thanks also to both Ron Thomas (A’s) & Murray Tippett (B’s) for their efforts as club scorers this season. Also to Jeff Schmidt who assisted Tucky on Thursday nights & showed tremendous support both Ron & the A’s throughout the season – much appreciated. Thanks also to Anthony Tucker in his first season as club coach. Tucky’s passion & hard work never falters & I’m sure some of the things he has put in place this season are beginning to bear fruit – Starting with a LOA premiership hopefully.
