Newsletter - Edition 2

The new cricket season gets underway this weekend (weather permitting). John Clifford will captain what is shaping as a youthful & talented A grade team. Anthony Tucker takes over as B grade captain in the C2 (two day) competition. The C grade will remain in the LOB one day competition.
From The Coach
Where did the last six months go? I hope you’re all excited and ready for season 2011-12. Pre-season started way back on 7th of August and has been well attended. A special mention to Nick Blight who was the only person to attend all the sessions. Well done Blighty!
Training now reverts to Tuesday & Thursday from 6-7.30pm. Training will start with running and stretching followed by some catching drills. If you are late to training and miss the group warm-up, then I expect you to at least do a lap of the Oval and a stretching routine.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Sean MacGregor and the OSCA committee for giving me the chance to be senior coach again this season. I would also like to thank Jeff Schmidt for his work as Assistant Coach. We are very lucky to have someone as committed as Schmidty at OSCA.
If you are unable to train could you please let either myself or Schmidty (0409 417 100) know with a phone call or text message. This didn’t happen much last season and it’s not hard to do. Please wear an OSCA training top or white Cricket shirt to training also.
Let’s have a couple of wins on Saturday to start the season!
Anthony Tucker (0408 841 621)
